    Let's review the previous comments from "Losing the Future" post of resident trolls (derek & chris) on the subject of "rich people" and business:

    derek thinks:
    "Look where concerns about sales become number one... at the start of this recession. That's the problem, that's what must be addressed."

    Exactly derek... the number one reason the owner of Leland is warehousing a million in inventory... He obviously anticipates no or lower sales... Uh huh!

    chris thinks:
    "Tax breaks are invented by corporations because those guys are the only ones actually benefiting from them."

    Really chris? Guess Leland's 25 employees do not benefit... no paycheck to feed/house their families.

    also, chris said:
    "can't we just give tax breaks to small biz and forget the guys that are making billions in revenue, or at least make them pay what they are supposed to..."

    Just how much tax is enough for the billion dollar big guys? 75, 85, 90% ... Or would takeover of the business by government adequately support progressives at the trough?

    Yeah... if it wasn't for those evil rich people everyone would have a government number... oops, I mean job. No, I was right the first time... likely waitin at the government store for a loaf of bread.

    Uh huh... yeah!

    derek

    Boo Hoo, in the middle of 2 wars people are being asked to pay the tax rates they did in the 90's?

    Sheep

    Joyce

    "Change" to derek means change the discussion back to blame bush.

    The wars that obama stopped?

    Who's a sheep?... believing false promises!

    Hey kid... go back to high school... take econ101.

    Chris

    Joyce says:

    "Just how much tax is enough for the billion dollar big guys? 75, 85, 90% ... Or would takeover of the business by government adequately support progressives at the trough?"

    Uh, howabout just their fair friggin share? We can't even get half of "big guys" to pay their deduction-shorted taxes on time, and then some just choose to NOT PAY if they are facing (planning) bankruptcy (Enron). THEY HAVE TOO MUCH POWER. The government's JOB is to make sure there are checks and balances in the "financial sector" , notwithstanding the money they must control in order to make sure those checks and balances happen. We have lost many of those checks and balances. Monopolies exist, fraud exists in virtually every level of the Washington power structure, lobbying is rule-of-the-day, and businesses that make billions in revenue employ less than 500 people and scam the fed (possibly knowingly) out of millions in tax revenue. You all admit, though you forget who has been running shit for the last 30 years, that these things are happening, they are commonplace, and they are all happening right now under our noses.

    Tax breaks are for the rich. period. .

    you can have my $600 not-even-a-mortgage-payment STIMULUS (I know you all love that word, you should you invented it) check back and then I'd like an answer why almost HALF of all US corporations did not pay taxes (just flat out refused) for at least one year.

    at least one.

    answer?

    anyone??

    *crickets*

    Joyce

    chris... there are many dishonest people who choose to not pay taxes, Does that mean all those who build businesses need to be punished?

    No crickets... though a really great post about ants and grasshoppers. (from The Blaze):

    "The Ant and the Grasshopper, revised edition

    The following is the Democratic “common good” version of the old favorite, the Ant and the Grasshopper:

    Remember the ant and the grasshopper?

    OLD VERSION . . .

    The ant works hard, in the withering heat, all summer long.
    He builds his house and stores supplies for the winter.

    The grasshopper thinks that the ant is a fool.
    He laughs, dances and plays the summer away, preparing nothing for the coming winter.

    Winter comes, the ant is safe and warm.
    The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

    The moral to the story being: BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    NEW VERSION . . . (sad but true)
    The ant works hard, in the withering heat, all summer long.
    He builds his house and stores supplies for the winter.
    The grasshopper thinks that the ant is a fool.
    He laughs, dances and plays the summer away, preparing nothing for the coming winter.
    Winter comes, the ant is safe and warm.
    The shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and fed, while others are cold and starving!
    CBS, NBC, ABC & CNN show up to provide pictures of shivering grasshoppers, next to a video of an ant
    in his comfortable home, with a table filled with food.
    America is stunned by the sharp contrast! How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor
    grasshopper is allowed to suffer this way?
    Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah, with the grasshopper.
    Everyone cries when they sing “It’s Not Easy Being Green”.
    Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house, where the news stations film the group
    singing “We Shall Overcome”.
    Jesse then has the group pray for the grasshopper’s sake, and reminds the group to contribute to his group, so that he can “continue the fight” for grasshoppers, everywhere!
    Ted Kennedy & John Kerry exclaim, in an interview with Tom Brokaw, that the ant has gotten rich, off
    the back of the poor grasshopper!
    Both call for an immediate tax hike, to make the ant pay “his fair share”!
    Finally, the EEOC drafts the “Economic Equity For Grasshoppers Act”, retroactive to the beginning of the
    summer.
    The ant is fined for failing to hire the proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to
    pay his retroactive taxes, his house is confiscated by the government.
    Hillary Clinton gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper, in a defamation suit against the ant.
    The case is tried in federal court, with a jury comprised of unemployed welfare recipients.
    Surprise! The ant loses the case!
    The story ends, as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food, while the government house he lives in (which happens to be the ant’s old house) crumbles around him,
    due to lack of maintenance!
    The ant has disappeared in the snow.
    The grasshopper is found, dead, in a drug-related incident.
    The house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders, who terrorize this once-peaceful neighborhood.
    The moral of this version? Don’t vote for Democrats or liberals."
    Joyce
    Sorry for that long post JT... it is a good story.
    chris... you mean tax dodgers like left-leaners:
    http://michellemalkin.com/2010/10/21/obama-headlines-google-fat-cat-fundraiser-crickets-chirp-over-googles-60-bil-tax-avoidance/
    But of course they support bho and the dems... so its OK?
    Frank
    There are your crickets, Chris. Hope the sound of hypocrisy keeps you up tonight.
    Maddypie
    @Joyce, Excellent.
    Even a five year old would understand this.
    Guess that leaves chris out...again.
    Chris
    I never implicated Republicans and left out Democrats.. they are both equally guilty of pandering to special interest.
    Chris
    also, you think you can copy and paste some simpleton analogy and expect me to take that as proof positive that I am wrong about who is responsible for the National economy??
    At least use your own brain a little bit, other than thinking up ways to point out how "liberal" you think my ideas are.
    Also,
    "there are many dishonest people who choose to not pay taxes, Does that mean all those who build businesses need to be punished?"
    I never said anything about ALL businesses just big corporations and explain what you mean by punished?
    James T.
    Chris...
    Stop whining and take your ass whopping like a man! For Pete's sake!!!
    Chris
    James,
    who is Pete and when did I get my ass whopped? I don't recall, but there was some nonsense spewing about, maybe that was it... hmmm...
    Joyce
    Maddypie... right again.
    Even my 6-year-old grandson would understand... though he's in first grade and speaks two languages!
    chris... need some wine with that cheesy response?
    TerryN
    Joyce - Good story. It made our Friday afternoon a riot. Until we realized we're the ants...
    Chris
    I shouldn't have even responded to you copy-pasting that poorly constructed analogy that has been going around for years now. I feel dumber for having done so. Hopefully you'll engage me with your own ideas next time.
    Joyce
    Just thought it was a good story that warranted sharing with those on this blog.
