Thank you all for your prayers. My son and I are having the trip of a lifetime. Today, in the very dungeon where Jesus was beaten and tortured until he was turned over to the Romans for crucifixion, my son recited from memory Isaiah 52: 13 - 53:12.
It was a moment I will never forget. (Nor anyone in the room.) My son was reciting from the book of Isaiah "the suffering and glory of the servant...", who some 2000 years ago, in the very place we were standing and praying, began to fulfill that prophecy.
The emotion was overwhelming, almost crushing. The horror and humility of recognizing God's sacrifice, coupled with the deep pleasure I felt in my own sons gift and how he just used it.
Shades of a fathers love?
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All three were with us in that place today.
I was blessed to share the moment with them and my son.
