The real cruelty is focusing on the grade rather than if this was her best effort, and helping her actually learn the information rather than putting a number on her.

Im betting that entire situation never happened. But saying she was depressed due to a percentage... your not supposed to guilt your children to depression over grades.

My parents made sure I understood what the meaning of getting good grades was. They didn't need to guilt me, I had done that plenty to myself. I would get pissed when I would get an A-. >.<
