Rangel, Geithner, Daschle, what do all of these Democrats have in common? Why is it that liberals in leadership love to raise our damn taxes, but hate to pay their own?

Iran says Obama's offer to talk shows U.S. failure

Excerpts from the AFP:

US President Barack Obama's offer to talk to Iran shows that America's policy of "domination" has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.

"This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed," Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.

"Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change," he added.

After nearly three decades of severed ties, Obama said shortly after taking office this month that he is willing to extend a diplomatic hand to Tehran if the Islamic republic is ready to "unclench its fist".

Wow... that was so poetic. What incredible soaring rhetoric!

In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a fresh tirade against the United States, demanding an apology for its "crimes" against Iran and saying he expected "deep and fundamental" change from Obama.

Nothing like getting pimp-slapped by your enemies, huh, Neville? It will take some time, but eventually even "the One" will warm up to the term "Axis of Evil."

It took six tries, but today Michael Steele was elected chairman of the Republican National Committee. Thangs gonna change now! We got a black man running the party!

Paint it black! Yes, We Can! Now Americans of African descent can stop trippin'. Now they have a choice! Now the color-Kool-Aid drinkers can stop voting on skin color and start thinking about ideals. Maybe...

Who am I fooling. No, they won't, but here's the deal. In Michael Steele, Americans will hear a conservative voice from a strong, clean and articulate American of African descent.

The vote was 244-188. No Republican drank the Kool-Aid, and eleven Democrats poured the poison out. Thank you, Barack Obama, for doing what George Bush never could do . . . rally Republicans back to core principles. Conservatism is alive in Congress? Nice.

The Celebrity Windfall Profit Tax

The funniest, most dead-on post of the year. Forget about punishing the corporate CEOs. What about these pampered overpaid pushovers who make $20 million per film and spend it on what? At least the CEOs of the Big Three had their companies buy their Lear jets! How can John Travolta be allowed to not only have multiple private jets, but a parking lot in his back yard to house them?

It is time. I call for a windfall profit tax on artists and entertainers who earn more than $1 million per year. Most of them are all in for Democrat-style compassion. This should be a no brainer for left!

The Goracle

Weather is God's domain, as is knowledge of the future.

Officials of Barack Obama's administration have drafted a letter to Iran from the president aimed at unfreezing US-Iranian relations and opening the way for face-to-face talks, the Guardian has learned.

Diplomats said Obama's letter would be a symbolic gesture to mark a change in tone from the hostile one adopted by the Bush administration, which portrayed Iran as part of an "axis of evil."

State department officials have composed at least three drafts of the letter, which gives assurances that Washington does not want to overthrow the Islamic regime, but merely seeks a change in its behaviour.
