Oh, my. I guess the oath of office flub up was a bigger deal than I thought! I wasn't going to mention it, but seeing "the One" insisted on a do-over.... The flub was embarrassing but was it worth of a mulligan?
Wow.
Well, now we get to deal with a couple of new firsts. First black President, first black presidential flub up of the Presidential oath. First President to acknowledge non-believers as a religious group.
This can’t be good. How do we know they used a Bible at the do-over and not a Koran? Hey, I’m just asking!
Update: Obama didn’t use the Bible or the Koran! Oh shiggedy! Another first? Which swearing in should count? The one with the Bible or the one without?

The whole "do-over" thing seems rather odd. Done in private, no press present, no video, only a really crappy audio version, and no Bible.
Before anyone starts pillorying me, I am NOT a conspiracy theorist, and I'm not inferring in the least that something wasn't on the up-and-up.
But why on earth do it at all in this fashion? It seems pretty pointless to me.

Was his left hand just at his side while his right was raised, either time?

Does anyone know yet why Justice Roberts flubbed it up the first time? Some predicted that he would yet I was surprised to find that he would allow his own politics impact the moment. Oh well, I guess many older and wiser black people were right to expect what their ageless wisdom had predicted. Funny.

Kara - you must have missed the inauguration, Obama messed up...

Of course I saw the president take his oath. Justice Roberts has stated that he erred. and Obama had the words committed to memory many weeks back. And by the way, legally he would have been president@ 12 noon on Jan 20 whether an oath had been administered or not. The oath doesn't make him president. Electorate does

Then why the do-over?

Kara --
Why bring up older and wiser "black people" in this alleged "age of post-racialism"? Also, is it possible, just maybe, that Justice Roberts and Obama were a bit nervous in front of 2 million people, and that it wasn't a purposeful flub?
