Illinois is only a state away, but for many of us behind the cheddar curtain, it’s like . . . Illinois. We don’t like their driving, we don’t like the Cubs, we don’t like the Bears, and the Taste of Chicago is a cheap imitation of the real deal, Summerfest!
Speaking of cheap imitations, let’s talk about Barack Obama. On television, he looks larger than life -- accomplished, polished, prepared, ready to lead…
He’s not.
Allow me to put Barack Obama in perspective. Wisconsin has its own Barack Obama. His name is former State Senator Gary George.
Remember Gary? What if, instead of going to prison for obtaining illegal kickbacks, State Senator Gary George had run against Russ Feingold and won a U.S. Senate seat. Then, after two years into his first term as a "do-nothing" Senator, he ran for the presidency of the United States of America and won the Democrat nomination!
Think about this… Gary George… President of the United States!
Barack Obama is Illinois’ Gary George. The only difference is that Gary got caught and Barack got lucky.
Please explain. Surely you don't mean that since Obama and George are both African American male politicians then they must also both be felons.
Is this a joke?
I guess you and Al Sharpton must be a lot alike since you're both on the radio.

Huh? Is right. I was refering to their inexperience and shady dealings... I didn't even cosider the color of their skin!
Funny that you did and nothing else.
Here's the thing: they are not "both African Americans," One is an American of African descent and the other is an American of Kenyan descent. If this were racial I would have pointed that out.

I know what you were saying Mr. James T., and "cheap" imitation could be nit-picked too because nothing in the blow hard city is inexpensive, but President George? It could never have been!
First off, no evil Republican crackpot Senator with a presumably sealed messy divorce to unseal before the election and derail the competition. Wisconsin would have had to have elected an evil Republican to the Senate in the first place to have launched President to be Gary George and I haven't seen nor do I see that happening for some time.
Can't blame you for dreaming though. Some day, some day, our own liberal crack-pot will be in the lime light. Wasn't Russ himself an early, early, early "maverick" possibility for a candidate?

Huh x2!
Since when did Kenya secede from Africa!
Look the name calling is part of the great American political tradition but some of us are hoping to focus the debate on the critical issues of our day.
If you feel the Iraq War has made us safer, that the economy is strong and we're suffering from a recession of the mind, that the housing foreclosure crisis could have been prevented with LESS regulation, that health care is available to anyone who can get to an emergency room, that what happened to Sen. McCain in the Hanoi Hilton was atrocious but waterboarding and other questionable interrogation techniques are cool when we do it, then fine.
Scripture can be interrupted in many ways but I don't think Jesus favored preemptive war and torture, ignoring the needs of the less fortunate or arming ourselves with AK-47s.
Whew, thanks for listening.

C'mon James, it's not as if John McCain hasn't had his own "shady dealings" with convicted felons.
