So, in the year of Obama our lord, and against my advice, John McCain prostrated himself before the great NAACP… Why?
In light of the recent "Obama's nuts" flap, does McCain feel he can make inroads with the antiquated ball-snatching liberals of America's oldest civil rights organization? (Don't be fooled . . . Jesse was speaking for a generation.)
And if so, to what end?
Why is McCain going to speak to the NAACP? What is it that he wishes to accomplish by pandering to a has-been organization?
Side Bar: If the Chocolate Jesus wins the election and brings the nation together in a new era of hope and change, will we no longer need groups like the NAACP and LARASA?
Well, at least McCain has never "spoken down" to black people. Right? Maybe he feels he has a generational bond with the old codgers of the NAACP? Maybe he wants to forge an alliance against the young guy?
"Vote for me, I'm old like you!"
Or Maybe McCain just doesn't get it. McCain speaking to the NAACP is like Bush campaigning in California. It's a waste of time, energy (which he needs), and it plays into old stereotypes that reflect… wow, it reflects the era that shaped John McCain's world view.
We are so screwed in '08.

JTH,
Back again to give you a little light in that dark tunnel your world view lives in. McCain is running for President of the United States correct? So why shouldn't he be speaking to Americans regardless of their historical, political affiliations?
I respect any man/woman who doesn't take the path of least resistance. He knows that he ain't winning the Black vote, but he got a lot of respect for showing up. Obama knows he ain't winning the guns and bible vote, but he shows up and makes his pitch.
You know this is all politics, they both need to take just enough of the others base of supporters in order to get that "W."
JTH, you're going to loose your Republican Card if you keep on banging on J. Mac. By the way, what nickname do you use for J. Mac?
