Last night’s baseball game ended in exciting fashion!
In the bottom of the last inning, with two runners on base, two outs and two strikes against him, my boy hit a line drive single that drove in two runs to win the game!
That was cause for celebration! IHOP – for a late night meal!
Tired, and full but satisfied, the family headed for bed. That's when it happened... when we all heard the CRASH!

Glass breaking, something falling, violence. My wife came running downstairs, my son came around the corner and I just turned around. The rock missed me by seconds. Whoever threw it through the window had to have seen me. Maybe they were aiming at me?
Who knows.
We called the cops, but after three hours gave up on them and went to bed. I found the note on the door this morning. If I had stayed up one more hour, I could have spoken with the police. They showed up at 5:35 a.m. -- more than four hours after the incident, and left a note on the door with the words, “ No Answer!”
No answer? Like everyone, including the dog, was asleep and wouldn’t have heard the doorbell ring at 5:30 in the a.m.?
Sigh.
Time to get the broom, the duct tape and the shotgun! I need to be tied to the mast of the central city while the Sirens of the suburbs sing their irresistible songs.

Bottom line: Your son hit a line drive single that drove in two runs to win the game. Windows can be replaced, right? We all live between a rock and hard place, but it takes courage and fortitude to soldier on, my friend. And that you will.

Random violence, or someone who doesn't like your take on things?
Either way, scary stuff!! Thank God no one was hurt. I know you are determined to stay put, so I hope God puts a hedge around your family to keep you all safe.
And kudos to your son. That must have been a really proud moment for all of you :)

The classic way of getting a faster response is a call stating that your house was under attack, followed by a tape recording of gun shots (From inside) and the house holder shouting "Got the sucker!">
