Say It Loud! (I'm A Black Conservative & Proud?)

Images3 Whoa! The hate e-mail is cascading in. I think I struck a chord in my national debut. During tomorrow's edition of the National Conversation (News Radio 620 WTMJ), I will address the AP article and the surprising statements made by some of my conservative heroes.

I was surprised, to say the least. For a candidate who is supposed to be "post-racial," Obama sure is stirring up a lot of racial angst, and black conservatives out there are truly conflicted.

Not I, my friends. I am beyond the fray. The National Conversation is your home for true post-racial commentary.

Welcome.

I heard James for the 1st time today and I must say I am impressed. He was talking about the role of fathers in their children's lives (it is father's day after all) and the role he plays in his children's lives. James truly is post-racial and I think that's a phrase conservatives need to use more often. I am so tired of the racial demagoguery and the separation of people by race...frankly it is intellectually boring, as well as to mention dis-empowering and disunifying. I am white, but I see James as a man just like me who happens to be black..and that's exactly what he calls himself: an American of black ancestry.

Damn JTH,

You should not have told me to look at your quote in the AP article. You come across shallow as hell Black Man.

You are quoted, "We are of the same generation. He's African American and I'm an American of African descent. We both have lovely wives and beautiful children," Harris said. "Other than that, we've got nothing in common. I hope he loses every state."

Do a little homework my man... what do you have in common with John McCain? In his generation you were not considered his equal and you damn sure wasn't a full citizen of our great country.

Let me get this straight... you and Obama only share color as a common factor? Then how can you boast that you are of the same generation yet share nothing? Wow! How was it growing up in a bubble? Seems to me that you are not practicing full disclosure in your commentary.

I challenge you to prove that you share nothing but pigment with Obama.

Have you heard his stern comments on absent Black Fathers? I bet you agree with that and share his positions. I also bet you would also support his call for better parenting in the African American community. And what about his push for Blacks to excel academically"? Or is that being elitist?

Ain't that something... a Black Man gets a Havard Education and it becomes a negative. Damn, only in America.

Nah... you don't care about those things do you? Is JC Watts correct when stating that Republicans have no outreach to African Americans and their issues? Or as you feel... you have nothing in common with Black Democrats.

Come on JTH... you're better than those comments quoted in that article.

A. Maurice,

You've got to e-mail man. I've got to bring you up to speed. I am not a McCain supporter either. I also don't personally dislike Obama. Did you miss the "with love in my heart" part?

Dude! E-mail me! Oh, and I love your site.

James,
thank you, thank you, thank you! We do exist, and you are right the only thing I have in common with Barak Obama is his pigmentation. Keep up the good work!
