Can We Drill Now?
Sixty five bucks and change... That's how much it cost me to fill up my minivan, man! Sixty-five dollars!!! For the first time I am very conscious of the trips I take and the errands I run. Is this what it feels like to be European?
Yuck.
This is why the rest of the world drive small pieces of crap, and now they are pushing mini-matchbox eco-cars on us! Enviro-friendly Japanese hybrids are not the answer -- gas guzzling is in our DNA. Paying more than $2.49 a gallon is un-American. It is our patriotic duty to pay less than any other country (except Saudi Arabia) for oil. Every penny the cost of gas goes up, is a loss of American freedom.
(Hey Uncle Ed, is the high price of gas part of the "price of freedom" too?)

This is it. I'm getting out the horse and buggy. James, I'll come pick you up, okay?

A Conservative Republican told me in 2004 that if I voted for John Kerry a gallon of gas would cost $3.50, the IRAQ War would be FUBAR and the economy would weaken in about 2 years. Well, I voted for Kerry and that Conservative Republican was right.

The liberals love to say that we need to severely reduce our reliance on foreign oil, yet they are the FIRST ones to say that we cannot drill in our own country to look for it and get it much, much cheaper.

YEP! Hang in there, as soon as the sales of truck's, SUV's, starter limo's, other assorted gas drinking go fast stuff falls off far enough, gas will come back down. Then it will stay down until we forget how high it was, and we will start buying all that stuff again. Then the gas prices will start back up again, this time from a slightly higher level, and the beat goes on. Drive the mini van, run your errands, take your wife out to an anniversary dinner, it’s only money and there are a lot of gas stations!
