Unwed Fathers Breed Disfunction

Three teenage bastards kill a father of three over a botched drug deal. This is the bane of the central cities of America.

Bastards.

My heartfelt condolences go out to radio talk show host, Casandra Casandra, who lost her son in this mess but I am sick of this. I'm really sick of this.

If you are a male American of African descent and you have “fathered” male children with multiple women, outside of marriage... and you make no effort to raise YOUR boys, let alone know them. . .

YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

Not "the man,"
not the country,
not the lack of jobs,

You.

You are the reason why this city is a shooting gallery. You are the reason why young inner city men have become so casual about killing one another.  The absent father has become the absence of morality, decency... humanity.

Recently a colleague asked me to comment on this blog entry written by his friend.  It is depressing. Again, the breakdown of the black family is killing this city. In this case, the “father” was in the home but acting irresponsibly...

We need solutions.

I think we should start with the penal system since so many male Americans of African descent are incarcerated. Before a man is released he should be compelled to go through a father initiative. A faith-based program that will indoctrinate both young and old with the reality of the last 40 years and how we (Americans of African descent) have been our own worst enemy.

A gang is not a family.  A woman can’t raise a man. A girl needs a protector. The black male must return to the home. He must be the man in his family.

This is the only solution to the problem that is plaguing this country.

Packer Exuberance

A Friend Sent Me This Little Ditty.

John Elway, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven,
God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with
a faded Broncos flag in the window.

"This house is yours for eternity, John," said God. "This is very
special; not everyone gets a house up here."

John felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a green and gold sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous Packers flag, and in every window, a cheesehead.

John looked at God and said, "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won 2 Super Bowls, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said, "So what do you want to know, John?"

"Well, why does Brett Favre get a better house than me?"

God chuckled and said, "John, that's not Brett Favre's house...  It's mine."

Knock Down Drag Out!

I truly enjoy it when lefties get down and dirty. This is the best spoof  on the Hillary / Obama debate I've seen thus far. It's humorous, cogent, uncomfortable but relevant... If you are a Democrat... Which I am not, so that just makes it fun to watch. So here's to a bunch of lefties and MAD TV!

This Just In...

Ladies and gentlemen, the Pope agrees with me! In a surprise attack that won’t be much of a surprise when the excrement hits the fan, the Pope body slams climate change prophets of doom, warning them that "any solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology.”

In other words, “Show me the science!”

The Pontiff goes on to say, “the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind.”

The Pope also says “it was sensible for nations to choose the path of dialogue rather than the path of unilateral decisions.” Hmmm... Unilateral.... where have we heard that word before?

Of course the Pope is far more wise and learned and respected than me, but Jimmy was at the table first.  And, I’m glad that he has pulled up a chair.

The Pope is about to get beat up. I want him to know that I am here for him. (he he he)

Ike Turner

Ike Turner has assumed room temperature. He will be forever remembered as the man who beat on Tina Turner.

That would be sad, except for the fact that Ike was unrepentant. It seems odd but his meanness was greater than his immense talent.

Now that's sad.

My Father

I love my father. Never more than I do now, but it is hard for me to spend time with him. He is not the man I knew.

He calls me often, but has nothing to say. When he is talkative, he doesn’t make sense.

My wife and I are in that place. Two ailing fathers with little time to spend, a teenager with two siblings, it’s kicking our butt. We’re busy, tired, pressured with little time for us. We used to look at each other and laugh.
Now we just look,
    wide eyed,
        sad.

This is the season of dread. The time where souls go unfed.

I never thought in a million years that I would look into my father’s eyes and see confusion, frustration and vacancy. I thought I’d never cry.

I want to avoid him, but can’t. I love him, but I’m mad. I don’t want his mantle, not yet... but I guess it is that time. The son is now the dad.

Generartions Of Failure

This is a tragedy. A living nightmare. A frightening illustration of the complete breakdown of the black family in America. Is all lost for Celia Magee?

No.

But the odds are overwhelmingly stacked against her and her infant son. Read the article and listen to Celia’s 29 (looks like 50) year old mother with three more kids of her own. What values do they have? What goals are they committed to? Where are the men in their lives? And, why oh why did the Quad-City Times run this story  in a morally neutral fashion? In other words, where is the condemnation for moms and company?

“She always urged Celia to tell her if she was having sex so she could arrange birth control for her.”

“Her tank top shows off two black tattoos on her arms. One, which winds down her forearm, reads 'Tish,' her mom’s nickname. Another, below her shoulder, reads 'Manica Magee,' which is the teen’s rap name.  Leticia told the girl she could get inked if she kept her grades up. They went to Chicago to get it done.”

Let me see, arranging birth control for a 14 or 15 year old, and allowing a minor to get tattooed. If these actions aren’t contributing to the delinquency of a minor, what is? 

This is a generational phenomenon. The complete breakdown of the black inner-city family is a Gen X issue. Another casualty of the hip hop/rap culture. 

But it’s worse.

That baby in the “child rap wanna be’s” hand is the newest member of the “Z” generation.  On that couch sit two generations of failure and a dying hope for the next generation.
